UX Writer

Soho, New York | Product | Full-time

We’re looking for a talented, passionate UX Writer to join our growing team in NYC. You’ll be responsible for crafting the copy found throughout our digital products and experiences, using your gift for language and depth of product knowledge to create intuitive, delightful experiences.

You’re a stellar writer with a portfolio of work that demonstrates how you’ve used insight, empathy, and language to create simple and delightful user experiences. Your writing style is concise, contemporary, simple, and direct—but also filled with imagination, optimism, and transparency. You know how to explain complex concepts with very few words, in a clear, conversational, and engaging way… and when to add a dash of magic. You’re well-versed in UX language and design, and enjoy working through ideas and strategy as much as writing, testing, and iterating.

In this role you’ll write human, encouraging, and forward-thinking language that drives product adoption and builds brand loyalty. You’ll make content decisions based on qualitative insights, quantitative data, our voice/tone, and the vision for our larger brand narrative. By understanding user needs and mindsets across digital platforms and channels, you'll grow your first-hand knowledge of our products, customer segments, and behaviors, and be a passionate advocate for the user throughout the copy development process.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience, at least 1 year of experience in UX/product writing
  • A history of working with designers, product managers, product marketing teams, researchers, data analysts, and/or other writers to build exceptional product experiences
  • Experience writing product copy for websites, apps, landing pages, SMS & push notifications, and transactional emails
  • High degree of comfort translating complex concepts into clear and engaging writing with a solid, consistent voice
  • Super strong attention to detail, both in word selection for micro-copy as well as overall organization and documentation of ideas and projects
  • Knowledge of online technology and related products, including web and mobile UI and tools (particularly Figma)
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with Engineering, Design, and Product teams
  • A passionate opinion on the serial comma
