Senior Backend Engineer, Internal tools
We’re looking for a senior-level backend engineer to join our new engineering team in Amsterdam focused on developing internal tools.
In this role, you’ll build internal tools to help drive efficiency, scale our unique operations and culture, and improve processes across the organization. You’ll collaborate closely with other developers, as well as with stakeholders from the Product and Data teams— all with the goal of helping Lemonade evolve into the most autonomous insurance company in existence.
Responsibilities
- Build and extend internal tools that drive efficiency across multiple functions and flows in the organization
- Investigate and choose the best tools and technological solutions to satisfy business challenges and needs
- Work closely with the Product team and multiple stakeholders across the organization to achieve OKRs
- Be the owner of your domain and ensure code quality, performance, and scalability of our tools
- Take an active role in building your squad, coaching and mentoring other developers, and helping them elevate their skills
Requirements
- 5+ years as a backend engineer
- BSc in Computer Science or Mathematics (or equivalent experience)
- Broad knowledge of modern backend frameworks, tools, and architecture
- Experience working on high-scale, production-grade projects
- Past contributions to open source projects are a plus
- Ability to work in an office environment
