Senior Accountant

Amsterdam, Netherlands | Finance | Full-time

This position will require performing a broad range of tasks in a dynamic, hyper-growth startup environment. Based in our Amsterdam office, you’ll help us build our European business as we grow and  expand to additional countries and products. 

The Senior Accountant will be jointly responsible for a smooth transition to IFRS17, but will also work on day-to-day accounting, as well as annual reports and audit processes. You’ll work closely with Group Finance to ensure timely filing to regulatory authorities. You’ll own an array of reporting projects and responsibilities, and will assume a lead role in strengthening the company’s reporting compliance and upholding the highest professional standards. 

Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in financial reporting and insurance reporting for regulated Dutch insurers (other than life insurance)
  • Direct experience with implementing the IFRS17 accounting standard
  • Public accounting experience preferred, including IFRS and ideally US GAAP
  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or similar field
  • Experience in writing accounting position papers and policies is preferred
  • A+ written and verbal communication skills; English fluency is a must
  • Experience coordinating with external parties, including auditors, consultants, and regulators
