Partner Engineer & API Lead

Soho, New York | Business Development | Full-time

We’re looking for an experienced partner engineer to join Lemonade’s Business Development team. If you’re passionate about enabling the adoption of Lemonade’s technology platforms and tools by strategic and distribution partners and experienced in API platforms and partner-facing support, read on.

In this role, you will familiarize our strategic and distribution partners with Lemonade’s API and other tools designed to enable distribution of our insurance experience. You will be expected to support partner integration efforts -- offering best practices, clear guidelines and real-time troubleshooting. You will also work closely with our product and engineering teams to expand our portfolio of partner tools, and help establish our API product roadmap based on partner feedback. However, you will not be expected to write API code.

  • 6+ years of partner engineering, software engineering, or developer relations experience
  • Deep understanding of API platforms, REST APIs, SDKs, HTTP and OAuth
  • Wide exposure to diverse programming languages and architecture patterns
  • Avid communicator capable of sharing technical concepts to technical and non-technical partner teams
  • Highly skilled at fostering partner relationships, debugging, designing APIs and documenting new APIs
  • Proven ability to collaborate with key functional teams - in particular, product, content, and legal teams
  • Self starter with willingness to roll up your sleeves (if you choose to wear sleeves)
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or relevant engineering degree
About Lemonade

Lemonade is a licensed insurance carrier offering renters and homeowners insurance powered by artificial intelligence and behavioral economics and driven by social good. Instead of brokers and bureaucracy, we use bots and machine learning to create an insurance experience that is instant (90 seconds to get insured!), affordable (policies start at $5/month), and paperless.

Founded by Shai Wininger and Daniel Schreiber and backed by SoftBank, GV, Sequoia, General Catalyst, Aleph, and others, we’re transforming insurance from a necessary evil into a social good by injecting technology and transparency into an industry that often lacks both.

We believe in doing things differently, pushing boundaries, and questioning everything. And as a Certified B-Corp, we incorporate our values of doing good into everything we do – from our business model to our office culture, committing to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
