European Underwriting Lead

Amsterdam, Netherlands | Underwriting | Full-time

We’re looking for a dynamic person to manage and execute our underwriting strategy as we expand across Europe. You must be an analytically-minded and  hands-on self-starter who can balance risk while focusing on customer-centricity.


As the lead, you’ll articulate our underwriting strategy across Europe, and build processes to ensure it is executed appropriately and consistently. You’ll also support our technology and product teams in defining our underwriting approach for new products and geographies, using limited data and a lot of creativity. You’ll work with our claims and customer experience teams to ensure quality decision-making and customer satisfaction.


The ideal candidate is an independent thinker, who is excited about changing the status quo, and can use their underwriting expertise to maximize customer quality and customer experience

Requirements
  • 5+ years non-life experience; underwriting focus strongly preferred
  • Consumer/private lines experience strongly preferred
  • Relevant experience outside of underwriting a plus (e.g. profitability analytics and management)
  • Fast learner, self-driven, excited to get your hands dirty
  • Exposure to multiple European markets-  a plus
  • Analytical, with a strong ability to identify trends, communicate results, and take action
  • Proficient in English
  • Tech savvy
  • Lots of attention and care to detail
