Lemonade is looking for a strong, senior-level candidate based in Dallas to own day-to-day oversight of the Lemonade Claims Catastrophe Plan. This manager will be expected to collaborate with teams throughout the company to plan, staff, train, mobilize, and execute on a comprehensive plan in the event of a hurricane, winter freeze, wildfire, hail, tornado or other catastrophic event which impacts Lemonade policyholders.
In this role, you will be responsible for overall management, maintenance, and strategy related to Lemonade’s catastrophe planning. We will look to you to provide quarterly planning modeling updates in partnership with our reinsurance broker. You will oversee the CAT plan expansion and definition by peril (wildfire, hurricane, hail, polar vortex, derecho event).
You’ll be expected to collaborate with the actuarial, UW, and Product Development teams during CAT events, as well conducting post-catastrophe response analysis to continuously improve the process for Lemonade customers. You’ll also work closely with Lemonade’s Comms teams to produce valuable FAQs and service bulletins for Lemonade customers in preparation for such events.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a catastrophe plan vendors list, including onboarding, contracting, mobilization, reporting, and oversight. They will have also managed a CAT duty roster and staffing plan and catastrophe state compliance reporting. They’ll also have the ability to flex to non-catastrophe-related claims oversight during non-CAT related surge volume.
